The software helps Windows Users save electricity when using their PCs. Even if you don’t care about polar bears –after all, what have they ever done for you – you may be interested to know it can cut your electricity bill. Or at least slow its growth.
The program fine-tunes power settings. Your PC will be more ready to power off the monitor, spin down hard disks, and retreat into hibernation mode. Great. Just what you need when you’re busy, eh?
The settings are easily editable and users aren’t stuck with defaults. The program also shows how much energy the user has saved, and how many trees, gallons of oil, or kilowatt hours have been saved individually and as a community as a result.
Over 160,000 people worldwide have already downloaded it, says a spokeswoman. “We are releasing a new version in the next couple of weeks, which will have a different “look” – it will have a black background to comply with the current trend in energy-efficient computing,” says Hilary Rogers, at UniBlue.
